The difference between PE pipe and PPR
How to connect PE and PPR pipes, can they be directly melted, and the specifications and models of the two pipes are consistent? PPR and PE pipes cannot be connected by hot melting, and they must be directly connected with internal and external threads. The wall thickness of PE pipes and PP-R pipes is different. The welding strength of the two materials does not meet the requirements. PE is introduced into the room and then connected to PP-R. Small diameter pipes use metal conversion and large diameter pipes use flange conversion. Cast iron pipes and steel pipes are converted by flanges outdoors, and flange masonry and flexible joints are easy to inspect and replace. PPR pipes can be connected by hot melting, but not by hot melting. If you want to connect them together, you can add a pipe joint in the middle to connect the two pipes. Other differences between the two:
- Low temperature impact strength: From the index point of view, it is the strength of PE water pipe materials. PPR water pipes are stronger than PE water pipes, and PE water pipes are more flexible than PPR water pipes.
- Size specifications: The size specifications of PE pipes are dn1000, and the size specifications of PPR are dn160. Therefore, PE pipes are mostly used as drainage pipes, and water supply pipes are generally PPR.
