Analysis of the composition and advantages of PE pipes

Compared with traditional pipes, PE pipes have the characteristics of good toughness, low density, high strength-to-mass ratio, good corrosion resistance and insulation performance, low brittle temperature, easy coloring, easy construction and installation. Therefore, PE pipes are widely used in various fields such as municipal construction, water supply and drainage projects, agricultural water-saving irrigation, industrial sewage discharge, heating and heating, wire and cable threading, mineral transportation, etc. Compared with steel pipes, the cost of PE pipes is lower, which can be reduced by more than 12%, and the service life is also longer, which can reach 5Oa (steel pipes are generally 20a). Not only that, its maintenance cost is also low. However, in my country, the pipe specifications and standards in some areas are still imperfect, which has a certain impact on the use and development of PE pipes. On the other hand, as galvanized pipes are gradually banned, PE pipes have shown their superiority in the fields of building water supply, and PE pipes have also shown irreplaceable advantages in the fields of gas, industrial water supply and drainage, communications, agricultural irrigation, etc. However, in developed areas abroad, PE pipes account for 60% of the market share of water supply pipes, and more than 90% of the market share of buried gas pipelines. Not only that, China has established very mature construction standards for PE pipes. Advantages of PE pipes:

  1. Good flexibility. The elongation at break of PE pipes can reach more than twice, and they will not break easily.
  2. Low density and light weight make transportation and construction installation convenient. The pipe has low density (its density is 1/8 of ordinary steel pipes and 1/2 of glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes), easy transportation, increased rest for construction workers, faster installation, reduced construction time, and completed construction goals in a short time.
  3. Corrosion-resistant and not easy to scale, especially suitable for underground transportation of media containing sulfur, calcium, and magnesium ions, which greatly saves the cost of anti-corrosion and descaling, and its service life far exceeds other pipes.
  4. Antistatic and flame retardant. The antistatic agent and flame retardant of the pipe are evenly distributed inside the polyethylene resin, and the antistatic and flame retardant effects can be maintained for a long time.
